Boston-based Mezzo-Soprano and educator SarahAnn Duffy is a versatile performer and teacher specializing in classical, musical theater, and contemporary vocal styles. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Arts from the Bard College Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory. SarahAnn maintains an active private studio and serves on the faculty of New England Conservatory’s Expanded Education Programs.

As a soloist, SarahAnn has performed with acclaimed organizations and venues including Carnegie Hall, The Glimmerglass Festival, Sarasota Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the National Opera Center in New York, Jordan Hall, and the Kravis Center. Her work across classical and contemporary repertoire informs a dynamic and stylistically versatile approach to performance and vocal instruction.

SarahAnn’s passion for music began early in childhood and developed into a lifelong dedication to vocal artistry, pedagogy, and mentorship. Drawing from extensive conservatory training, professional stage experience, and collaborative work with leading artists and coaches in the field, she is committed to helping students cultivate healthy technique, musical fluency, confidence, and authentic artistic expression. In addition to voice instruction, she teaches piano and musicianship, with experience teaching music fluency for educational programs affiliated with the Aspen Music Festival and the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Days in the Arts at Tanglewood as both a Teaching Artist and faculty member. Her piano teaching focuses on beginner and intermediate students, emphasizing strong foundational technique, creativity, musical independence, and the development of confident, well-rounded musicians.

SarahAnn’s teaching philosophy emphasizes sustainable vocalism, expressive communication, and individualized instruction tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. She works with singers from emerging to advanced levels, integrating technical foundation, breath coordination, performance practice, audition preparation, sight reading, and stylistic flexibility in a supportive and artistically rigorous environment. For early pianists, she brings foundational elements to their music learning, sight reading techniques, as well as musical fluency.
